Stevens did an amazing job creating complex characters. This story was great and and kept you guessing until the end. That changes when bodies start turning up with notes addressed to him. His personal problems have interfered with his job to the point that he has been told to resign. Gabriel McRay is a homicide cop on the way out. This compelling psychological thriller kept me turning the pages from start to finish.
